Add Deli Scale Barcodes – Octopos

Weigh and Print Your Produce:

Place your produce on the deli scale.

Print the barcode label from the deli scale. (using the barcode you can determine the PLU)

Determine the PLU (Price Look-Up Code):

For a 13-digit barcode:

Ignore the first 2 digits and start looking at the 5 digits after that.

Use the next 5 digits as the PLU.(as you can see the PLU for this barcode is 00001)

For a 12-digit barcode:

Ignore the first digit.

Use the next 5 digits as the PLU. (as you can see the PLU for this barcode is 11400)

Click on the option to create a new product. [Link on how to create a product]

Enter the PLU (from the deli scale barcode) in the "Enter Barcode" field.

Fill in the other product details (e.g., product name, sales price, etc.).

Finalize:

Submit your new product.

You have now successfully added your deli scale barcode to OctoPOS.
