One of the major reasons why the Payment Terminal might not be working is the lack of connectivity issues with the Pin pad to the POS. If this is the problem, on your POS it should show a Red error line saying “Can not connect to the payment device please check your internet connection”. Other issues regarding the Payment Terminal are backend and can only be solved by the payment processors, for such cases, feel free to contact us.
To Reconnect the Pax Payment Terminal, Turn off the PAX by holding X and O together for 6 to 8 seconds. Once turned on click on the TSYS or Rapid Connect app on the PAX screen.
If the problem continues, We have to make sure the PAX is connected to the WIFI
Once the device is powered on, open the settings menu to access the WIFI settings.
When you attempt to open the settings app, a prompt will appear, asking for a password that grants access to the settings menu.
Password Field*:
Type in the PAX password to access Settings, by default The password should be PAX9678@@. The next step is to click on the network and internet option from the settings menu.
To access the Network and Internet menu, open it first. Then, click on the WIFI button to open the WIFI selection. A list of available WIFIs will appear. If you are not connected to the Octopos WIFI, connect to it. After connecting, check if the problem is resolved. If the problem persists, check the IP address on the Terminal to make sure it is correct.
If the problem isn't solved, let's check if the WIFI is on the right IP address so it can communicate with the POS.
Once the Network details are open, Press the advance options
button to extend the options screen. Keep scrolling into the advanced options till you find the IP Settings input. Once you click the IP settings
, change it to static and that should open new fields that will allow you to update the IP address. Change the IP address of the device based on the POS Lane if it already isn’t. See the

Verify Payment App TSYS or Rapid Connect is downloaded
Once you complete the WIFI settings, the device should have the internet. This should download either the Rapid Connect or the TSYS app on the device.
If none of this works, give the whole network a restart by restarting the WIFI router and let everything connect.
