There are several reasons why the Receipt Printer may not work properly. One of the most common problems is a loss of connectivity between the printer and the Wi-Fi or between the printer and the POS. Other small issues include the printer being out of paper. In most cases, following the steps below should resolve the issue. If not, please feel free to contact us.
Check if the printer feed button is working.
Press the feed button the printer and printer paper should come out.
Make sure the Ethernet cable is connected to the back of the printer and the other end is connected to the Octopos router.
Ensure the IP Address is the same as POS Setting
Print Self Test Page to check the printer IP
Turn off the Printer. Print the Ip address of the printer by pressing the feed button and turning on the printer. Make sure to hold the feed button for 5 to 7 seconds.
Ensure the same IP address that was printed is on the POS settings.
Go to The home page of POS and open the menu by clicking on the menu button.
Then go to update settings option in the menu.
Scroll down till you see the Printer option. Make sure the IP address on the POS and the self-test is the same.
Make sure the POS tablet is connected to the Octopos WIFI by checking the WIFI settings.
Go to the settings app from the app's home.
Select the WIFI settings and make sure the WIFI is connected to the Octopos WIFI. If not, connect it to Octopos WIFI.
