Setting up the Scanner Scale (Optional)

You will receive a Box that will look like the one below, It will have everything needed to connect the Scanner Scale.

Unbox it. You will have 1 Datalogic 9800 Scanner Scale, 1 Power Cord and brick, 2 Programable serial USB cable, 2 Serial Cables.

Start by Connecting the Power cable.

Next, connect one of the Serial cable into Host Port and another serial cable into Scale Host port of the Datalogic unit.

Next, take the serial cable connected to the Host Port on the Datalogic and plug the serial end into the Programable Scanner Cable. You will know which one is a scanner cable by looking at the label on the Programable scanner or scale cable.

Next, take the serial cable connected to Scale Host port on the Datalogic and plug the serial end into the Programmable Scale Cable. You will know which one is a scale cable by looking at the label on the programmable cable.

Next, plug the USB end of the programmable cable into your Point of Sale System’s USB port. Do this for both wires.

Next, in the octopos app, make sure Scale Type is set to Datalogic9800.

Reboot the Point of Sale system by unplugging the power cable and plugging it back on. Open the Octopos app and verify that items are scanning.
